Is Everyone an Author?

Is everyone an author? To truly understand this question let us argue from both sides. The book argues that everyone is an author, because everyone has a story to write, it's just up to them whether to write it or not. then you can argue that a tale told through oral storytelling or the small stories written on Youtube, Twitter, or Facebook can still make someone an author. With the rise of blogging writing has become even more integrated into society with many people reading blogs daily, sharing opinions and stating facts, they've nearly become the new newspapers. To me an author is someone who writes a story and can write it well, which, for me, means that not everyone could be an author. I believe that a story which is well written, grabs the readers attention and possibly reveals truths about our society is what drives a story to an "Author" level, and not everyone can do that. Thus my conclusion is that everyone can be a storyteller in their own way but to truly be an author you have to push storytelling to new heights. Thank you for reading.
